Random Accomplishments

As I was reviewing The List again, I realized that I'd accomplished 6 things without even trying! Here they are:

VBS was June 18th-22nd and I put an advertisement for it on Pilot Online. The day before VBS started, it was in the Compass! That's in the Virginian Pilot so... #35--Get into the Virginian Pilot: Check! I don't actually have photographic proof of this one, but I promise it was in there!

During VBS my friend Jenny and I taught Preschool Music. They don't just sit around and sing, so we did #79--Blast some music and dance!

Also with the kids we practiced yodelling. (The book told us to, I didn't make it up.) Jenny went behind a wall/blizzard that we'd made and after I yodelled, she echoed! Therefore #58--Make an echo, is done! (Again, no photographic evidence, none of these were done purposefully thinking of The List)

Next, I decided I've read ten books (I can't name all ten, buth I've read two Harry Potters, a really good book called Bunheads, three books by Melody Carlson, and four other random ones I got from the library) and a romance novel (The Lucky One):

72. Read a romance novel + 32. Read ten books = Finished!

Finally my mom decided to "help" me out with my list. She went to the grocery store and came home with a green tomato so we could have fried green tomatoes. You can imagine my joy.

As you can see, the second picture is terribly unattractive, but its proof that I did indeed eat a bite of a fried green tomato. I didn't like it much, but it wasn't the worst thing I'd ever had. The sushi and foreign cuisine was better. But nonetheless, one more thing can be scratched off The List: #51--Have fried green tomatoes

That's it till next time!

Bucket Listing Fun!

On Friday Jasmine, Grace, and I went bucket listing again! We started our day by getting a little lost, but sadly it wasn't on purpose and it still doesn't count for #80. Finally we made in to the Chrysler Museum to watch a class blowing class.

Thus completing #5: Visit tourist sites in Norfolk. (I admit, we didn't go go to more than one tourist site, but we plan on going back to actually go to the Chrysler Museum soon, so we decided we could count this as done.)

After the demonstration (which I highly recommend), we were starving and went in search of sushi or foreign cuisine. We found a place called Soya Sushi Bar and Bistro where we could get both sushi AND foreign cuisine!

We had avocado and cucumber sushi (it was alright but not great) and I had pork dumplings (which were pretty good). #48 and #93--check! However, Jasmine and Grace couldn't decide what was the best foreign cuisine so I agreed that they could take me to eat where they wanted whenever we bucket listed.

After lunch we went to an antique store that was right across the street. None of us were into old stuff so we took a picture, walked around once and called in done. #53 is completed!

After the antique store we wanted to get lost on purpose, but Jasmine had a time crunch so we decided to finish our day by eating a banana split.
I didn't really like the banana with the ice cream, but I had a few bites so I could say #13: Eat a banana split, is checked off the list!

Next week I'm going to B&U day at Belhaven (freshman orientation) and the week after is VBS so I probably won't be able to do much bucket listing. But rest assured, this list will be completed!

8 (and a half) done!

After much re-organization, I finally went to Grace's house to work on our bucket list! We were both starving, so we started the day by getting panini's, then went to work.

First up was #40 -  do a color by numbers picture. This took MUCH longer than we were expecting (probably because of the immense artistic talent required lol), so while we colored we worked on #74 - eat an entire pack of bubble gum.

I bought gum at the dollar store and it came in really small packs. So Grace and I actually each at two full packs of gum. Let me tell you, that was a HUGE mouthful of gum! By then we were running out of time since Grace had to babysit so we really ran through the rest of them. I meditated, #29 (and tried very hard not to laugh:

We did #75 - blow bubbles:
We hugged a tree (#73):

And finally we drew with sidewalk chalk (#28). Here's another example of our incredible artistic talents:

So there are five more things that we've checked off the list! You're probably wondering what the half is for that I mentioned in the title. I didn't bring my gps because I thought I would be able to make it. Somewhere I exited Grace's (very large and confusing) neighborhood from a different place and got completely turned around and lost. When I got home and looked at the list I found this: #80- Get lost on purpose and find the way back. Unfortunately I didn't complete this one all the way because I didn't get lost on purpose. But oh well, it was a great day and we have plenty of time to get the remaining 92 (and a half) items done :)
